Job Description

Bottom line? We’re looking for an Accountant - Accounts Receivable at Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability, providing full support to Director of Finance & Business Support.

A little taste of your day-to-day

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

  • Working as an important member of hotel pre-opening team and assisting in building your future finance team and culture
  • Monitoring and controlling new system implementations including general ledger, property management system, points of sales system, procurement system, to name but a few
  • Implementing and maintaining high standard accounting practices and procedures as required by InterContinental Hotels Group Policy, USALI, and HKFRS
  • Enforcing and maintaining credit and collection policies and procedures to maximize hotel profitability through reducing bad debt exposure and improving working capital
  • Assisting in maintaining and preparing accurate and timely financial and operating information with emphasis on the Aged Trial Balance of Accounts Receivable
  • Assisting in ensuring all accounts are reconciled on monthly basis, reviewing and approving those reconciliations
  • Assisting in implementing and maintaining acceptable accounting practices and procedures as required by IHG policies and procedures, generally accepted accounting practices and as affected by local conditions
  • Assisting in providing safe keeping, including proper storage and access, for all contracts, leases and other financial records
  • Working with superior on manpower planning, management needs, preparation and management of the department’s budget

What we need from you

  • A minimum of 3 years’ work experience in hotel accounting
  • A higher diploma in accounting, finance or a related discipline
  • Strong sense of integrity is a must
  • Hands-on, responsible, attention to details, possess good analytical mind
  • Excellent communication skills both internally and externally
  • Familiarized with Sun Ledger and Oracle Opera PMS is an advantage
  • Advanced users in MS Office Excel and Word
  • Proficiency in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), speaking and writing
