FINANCE OFFICE
Accountant (Accounting Operations Section) (Ref. 240206007)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) perform accounting duties of staff claims and payments to suppliers of the University and its subsidiaries, including verifying payments and related tax filings in compliance with the statutory requirements, relevant policies, rules and regulations;
(b) assist in the daily operations of the Section including handling email enquiries and telephone calls timely and tactfully;
(c) assist in the enhancement of the staff claims and related payment systems;
(d) provide advice to junior staff on tasks with complexity;
(e) handle general office administration; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should have:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines;
(b) a professional accounting qualification or equivalent is preferred;
(c) at least two years’ experience in accounting, auditing or other related fields, with experience in claims processing and/or system enhancement being an advantage;
(d) some supervisory experience;
(e) proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint;
(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(g) good communication and interpersonal skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
