Data Scientist (Client Engagement/Business Development)

We are looking for a Data Scientist with Business Development capabilities who has a passion for client interaction and technical creativity. In this role, you'll build AI solution demos—including chatbots and generative AI applications—communicate directly with clients in Cantonese and English, and help showcase the value of our work.

You'll also play a key role in understanding client business challenges, developing AI strategies tailored to their needs, and pitching innovative solutions that drive real impact. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves both data science and connecting with people—where you can shape how clients leverage AI to transform their business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop AI-driven prototypes and demos to demonstrate ThinkCol’s solutions to clients.

• Collaborate with internal teams to understand client needs and create data science deliverables that meet those requirements.

• Engage with clients, explaining technical concepts and solutions clearly and confidently, primarily in Cantonese and English.

• Build and refine chatbots, machine learning models, data pipelines, or analytics tools tailored to client use cases.

• Prepare presentations, proof-of-concept projects, and visualizations to highlight our AI capabilities.

• Stay current on AI and data science trends to provide informed insights to clients and colleagues.

• Participate in client discovery sessions to identify business pain points, propose AI strategies, and scope potential solutions that align with client objectives.

• Support the business development process by contributing to proposal development, conducting market research on AI applications in target industries, and helping pitch tailored solutions to prospective clients.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Python or another programming language (e.g., JavaScript, or similar).

• Interest in building chatbots or generative AI solutions, with familiarity or eagerness to learn frameworks like LangChain.

• Interest or experience in client-facing roles or technical communication.

• Fluency in Cantonese and English (written and spoken); Mandarin is a plus.

• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to explain complex ideas to non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

• Open to fresh graduates with a strong desire to learn; senior data scientists will provide mentorship to help you succeed, whether you join full-time or on a project basis.
