Job Description

We are looking for School Activities Officer to assistant all SH schools’ Other Learning Experience (OLE) courses:

  • Who have extensive knowledge of sports, music and OLE activities, a good understanding of health and safety and its implications for sports instruction and preferably some experience of OLE activities management in a professional context, ideally with children.

  • Who are extremely organized, efficient and flexible and who are able to work in a busy, fast-paced and often challenging school environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work calmly, effectively and accurately even whilst under pressure and when working to tight deadlines.

  • The ability to build a friendly but professional rapport with OLE trainers and lead them in a dynamic and efficient manner, set standards and norms of good practice and deal with any problems swiftly, fairly and appropriately, are all basic requirements of this post.

  • Who are hard-working, reliable and professional and for those who are willing to go the extra mile to help their colleagues and ensure the smooth running of the OLE courses at all times.

  • To give students an educational, culturally-enriching and memorable OLE experience in a safe and supervised setting and we are looking to employ professional staff who will accept this responsibility, and have the necessary wide-ranging skills, experience and commitment to help us achieve this goal.

  • To make sure that the OLE courses are delivered by the OLE trainers competently, diligently and safely by checking session plans, conducting session observations and monitoring students’ performance and levels of integration and enjoyment in order to create a positive, professional and successful programme in which every student feels engaged, motivated and empowered.
     

Qualifications

 

  • University Degree, preferably in Sports Science, Music, activities management or a related discipline;

  • Coaching qualifications is preferred but not essential;

  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to work with difficult people;

  • Proficient IT skills with experience in using Word, Excel and other online applications. 

  • Bilingual in English and Chinese. High level of oral and written communication skills in English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese and Putonghua.

  • Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure. 

  • Reliability; initiative and problem-solving skills; 

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a collaborative team environment;

  • Applicants will need to have some experience of coaching and sports/music/OLE activities management, as well as a minimum of 1 year professional experience of working with children.
