Freelance Lingerie Designer (Remote)

Job Summary:

Sheer is Hong Kong’s trusted lingerie retailer with boutiques in Hong Kong and a growing e-commerce business. We carry over 40 designer brands across women’s lingerie & loungewear.

We are seeking a talented and creative Freelance Lingerie Designer to conceptualize, sketch, and develop innovative lingerie collections. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of intimate apparel construction, fabric selection, and market trends, with the ability to translate creative vision into wearable, stylish, and functional designs.

This role is perfect for a self-motivated designer who thrives in a flexible, project-based environment and can collaborate effectively with suppliers and manufacturers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Sheer teams to align designs with our vision, target audience, and budget.

• Develop detailed sketches, technical drawings (flats), and mood boards for new collections.

• Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments while considering comfort, durability, and aesthetics.

• Work closely with pattern makers and manufacturers to ensure accurate execution of designs.

• Revise designs based on feedback, fit samples, and production feasibility.

• Stay updated on lingerie industry innovations, sustainability practices, and competitor offerings.

• Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements & Skills:

• Degree or certification in Fashion Design or a related field.

• Proven experience in lingerie, intimate apparel, or swimwear design (portfolio required).

• Strong knowledge of lingerie construction, fit, and technical aspects (e.g., underwire, elastic, lace).

• Proficiency in design software (CAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and/or hand sketching.

• Fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, Proficient in English

• Familiarity with fabric properties, sourcing, and lingerie-specific materials 

• Understanding of size-inclusivity and diverse body types in lingerie design.

• Excellent communication skills for remote collaboration with clients and manufacturers.

• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to feedback.

   

Compensation & Terms:

• Project-based or hourly rate (negotiable based on experience).

• Flexible schedule with remote collaboration.
