Reporting to the Director of Research and Innovation, the appointee will be responsible to provide leadership in the operations management of the InnoHK Clusters, foster a constructive relationship among Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), InnoHK Research Centres and the University, and provide support to the University’s Mainland Translational Research Institutes (MTRIs).
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) lead a team to provide administrative support to facilitate the smooth running of the InnoHK Clusters and MTRIs;
(b) foster and maintain close connection with ITC, partner institutes, industrial partners and other relevant external stakeholders to facilitate collaboration with the InnoHK Research Centres;
(c) coordinate among the Research Centres and different units of the University in all aspects of the operation of the Research Centres;
(d) provide secretarial support to committees/board meetings;
(e) manage and guide the central support team of the Research Centres to develop and implement relevant governance, policies and operational guidelines; and
(f) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Research and Innovation or his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree with at least eight years of solid administrative and/or supervisory experience, preferably in a research/innovation context and with knowledge of InnoHK operation and government funding rules/guidelines;
(b) have an excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua;
(c) have good communication and collaborative skills in building good relationship with different stakeholders;
(d) be proactive with a creative and strategic mindset;
(e) be able to work independently and as a team player;
(f) be highly self-motivated, adaptable and capable to manage multiple projects under pressure; and
(g) have good management skills and be adhesive to principles and guidelines.
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Manager.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
