Senior Manager, Global Transportation

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Global Transportation Manager is responsible for managing origin logistics and is the key liaison for our internal stakeholders and service partners to ensure timely movement of goods in the most cost-effective way.  The Senior Manager is the key driver for transportation system and process optimization, transformation and innovation.  Key to success in this position will be establishing excellent working relationships with key internal functional teams, including Production, Retail & Distribution.

RESPONSIBLILITY

• Manage all origin logistics processes and movement of goods across all shipping modes
• Partner with service providers to optimize logistics workflow and process
• Develop, adapt, and implement policies and procedures to ensure the operational effectiveness of global transportation operations to support contract requirements and business development based on industry best practices
• Facilitate & coordinates transportation activities and/or freight forwarding resources in various countries in Asia and Europe, to deliver merchandise from suppliers to distribution centers
• Determine and direct modes of transportation to be used that ensure the cost effective and efficient movement of cargo, insuring proper delivery schedules and requirements are met.
• Implement standardization from each country of origin in support of organizational & strategic objectives, while reprioritizing as required to meet those objectives.
• Establish, monitor, and report on vendors, service providers and velocity key performance indicators Monitor new vendors on-boarding process, ensure vendors comply of shipping merchandise in accordance to customs/ ASN requirements outlined in the vendor manual
• Identify issues and resolve ASN problems among vendor, GT Nexus and distribution centers.
• Audit the spending and provide cost visibility to the end users.
• Ensure the accuracy of vendors shipping document thus a smooth customs clearance operation at the receiving ends
• Ensure on-time shipping of samples and sample raw materials.
• Identify, propose and drive process enhancement opportunities

• Participate and contribute to global and/ or regional supply chain projects

EDUCATION & PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Degree holder in international business, supply chain, logistics, transportation, business management, or associated discipline required
• 8 years or above working experience in apparel/ or freight forwarding operations
• Advanced knowledge of modern principles for efficient transportation management and movement control
• Familiar with import and export procedure and requirement, especially in US, EU and China
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, as well as good command of spoken and written English and Putonghua
• Proficient in MS office applications, knowledge in GT Nexus and SAP is an advantage
