We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Team. As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for supporting the emotional, social, and mental well-being of students, enabling them to thrive academically and personally. The Social Worker involves collaborating with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators to address barriers to learning, provide counseling, and connect students and families with community resources. The Social Worker will foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes student success and holistic development.
Key Responsibilities
Student Support and Counseling

Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.

Develop and implement intervention strategies to support students in overcoming barriers to learning.

Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and create personalized support plans.
Crisis Intervention
-
Respond to crisis situations, such as bullying, trauma, or family emergencies, by providing immediate support and follow-up care.

Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement crisis management protocols.
Collaboration with Stakeholders
-
Work closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to address students’ academic and social-emotional needs.

Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Student Support Team (SST) meetings.
Family Engagement

Engage with families to provide guidance, resources, and support to address challenges affecting student well-being.

Conduct home visits or parent meetings as needed to strengthen family-school partnerships.
Community Resource Coordination
-
Connect students and families with external resources, such as mental health services, housing assistance, or financial aid.

Maintain partnerships with community organizations to enhance support services available to students.
Prevention and Education Programs
-
Develop and deliver workshops or programs on topics such as conflict resolution, mental health awareness, and social skills development.

Promote a positive school climate by fostering inclusivity, respect, and emotional resilience among students.
Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions, progress, and interventions.

Prepare reports and documentation required by the school or regulatory bodies.
Person Specification
Essential
-
Bachelor’s Degree or above in social work
-
Registered Social Worker
-
Minimum of three (3) years of stationed school social work experience
-
Native fluency in English, Putonghua and Cantonese
-
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations, including students, families, and school staff
-
Strong knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and trauma-informed practices
-
Experience in running Positive Education workshops is a plus
-
Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and organization skills
-
Satisfactory criminal background check
