Resident Care & Engagement Officer (Elderly Services)

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dynamic, and highly organized individual to lead our resident experience and customer service initiatives. This senior role blends operational coordination, community outreach, therapeutic pet companionship, and emotional support to enrich the lives of our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities

Resident & Family Engagement

• Serve as the primary liaison between residents, families, and care teams.

• Provide empathetic support and counseling to residents and families during transitions or challenges.

• Foster a warm, inclusive, and respectful environment that prioritizes resident dignity and wellbeing.

Internal Coordination

• Oversee and coordinate in-house activities, programs, and services.

• Collaborate with care staff, housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.

• Monitor resident satisfaction and implement continuous improvement strategies.

 External Relations & Events

• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and community organizations.

• Plan and execute marketing and promotional events that showcase our facility and values.

• Represent the organization at community outreach events and public engagements.

Pet Therapy & Companion Animal Program

• Lead and manage our companion dog program.

• Facilitate therapeutic interactions between residents and trained dogs.

• Ensure animal welfare and safety protocols are upheld.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in senior customer service, hospitality, or resident care coordination.

• Formal counseling qualifications (e.g., social work, psychology, gerontology) preferred.

• Experience in dog handler or in pet therapy programs.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a high level of empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence.

• Strong organizational and event planning capabilities.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

• Passion for working with elderly residents and enhancing their quality of life.
