Applications are invited for appointment as “Officer: student recruitment and engagement” in the Public Affairs Office (PAO): Admission and Recruitment Team at Saint Francis University (SFU).
The Public Affairs Office (PAO) manages the promotion and public relations activities of the institute including admission and recruitment, branding and marketing, media and public relations, and other public affairs. The PAO plans and implements policies, guidelines, and processes for these activities, oversees resource allocation, and monitors the production and quality of promotional materials. The office also plans and organises events to recruit students locally and internationally, ensuring that all materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with Saint Francis University's vision and values. The PAO plays a critical role in promoting the University and its programmes, attracting and retaining students, building brand awareness, and enhancing the institute's reputation.
Duties:
- Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials;
- Visits high schools, and colleges, speaks to groups and individual students, and meets with career master to promote outreach activities; coordinates community workshops; arranges visits from prospective students and parents;
- Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between the university and local school systems;
- Creates a database of prospective and current students and/or potential degree candidates;
- Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment and retention programs; develops mentorship programs; analyzes trends in recruitment and retention programs; develops strategies for program evaluation;
- Prepares reports and proposals and responds to inquiries from students and external stakeholders;
- Working with Assistant Director and develops operating goals and objectives for the unit; implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate to the unit;
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by supervisor; and
- Occasionally travel to China is required.
Appointment Criteria:
- A university degree with at least 2 years' relevant experience preferably within an educational setting
- Strong project management and multitasking skills;
- High integrity with a strong sense of professional ethics;
- Ability to work effectively in a large, complex, dynamic, and sophisticated organization;
- Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues;
- Energetic, approachable style and self-motivated;
- Ability to multi-task, work proactively, and pivot to address changing priorities;
- Good computer literacy, preferably with experience in database management;
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills;
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
