Duties

  1. Undertake the annual budget preparation, budgetary control and resource allocations;

  2. Conduct quarterly reviews and follow-ups with Colleges/Schools/Departments;

  3. Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, analysis and forecast;

  4. Prepare and evaluate variances between budgeted and actual results;

  5. Conduct reviews and prepare financial analysis for special projects;

  6. Assist in updating and reviewing the University's Financial Policies and Procedures, as well as other manuals related to financial operations;

  7. Provide administrative support to the University’s committees and working groups;

  8. Assist in enhancing the financial system and improving processes;

  9. Handle and resolve inquiries on budget and financial matters in accordance with the established policies and procedures; and

  10. Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related disciplines with at least 12 years’ relevant experience preferably in universities or sizable organisations with a minimum of 8 years at supervisory level;

  2. A qualified accountant and/or member of recognised professional accounting bodies;

  3. Strong sense of responsibility; ability to work independently; being self-motivated with excellent analytical skills; strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills;

  4. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and

  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are required.

  6. Hands-on experience in Oracle Financials would be an advantage.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
