Engineering Manager (stationed in DG)

The candidate will report to the AVP of R&D and in-charge of technology development, concept design development and execution, project management, product launch and product lifecycle support.

Responsibility:

• Lead a team and manage team performance
• Conduct in-depth research and evaluation of emerging technologies to improve project outcomes and operational efficiency.
• Develop innovative design strategies that align with project objectives and client expectations.
• Oversee full-cycle project execution, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and adherence to quality standards.
• Cultivate a collaborative team environment by promoting cross-functional communication and synergy.
• Mentor and support junior team members, fostering professional development and career progression.
• Represent the team in internal and external meetings to align goals, share progress, and resolve challenges.
• Prepare and deliver impactful presentations to stakeholders, highlighting project milestones and strategic insights.
• Evaluate individual and team performance, providing constructive feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
• Perform additional duties and ad hoc assignments as required.
• Stationed in Dongguan (5.5 days work week)
• Occasional travel is required.

Requirement:

• Minimum of 5 years in a leadership or decision-making role within the consumer electrical appliance, electronics, or lighting industry.
• Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design and electrical/electronic engineering.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and agencies such as UL, CSA, FCC, CE, ASTM, ISO.
• Understanding of industry methodologies including DFMEA, Lean Design, Kaizen, Six Sigma (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of 3D mechanical CAD software.
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Windchill, EPDM, PDM (preferred).
• Background in material science and chemistry is advantageous.
• Experience in product sustainability practices, including the use of recycled materials, is a plus.
• Demonstrates a proactive mindset, attention to detail, creativity, and strong communication skills.
