EAL Teacher

Carmel School is a leading international IB Continuum World School accredited by WASC and the IB to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). 

We are urgently looking for an EAL Teacher to join our Elementary School in January 2026.

Job Duties

• To maintain an “English as an Alternative Language (‘EAL’)” program to support all non-native speakers of English through the Elementary School

• To identify students eligible to participate in the EAL program

• To provide ongoing support for all EAL students in order for them to access the school curriculum and to participate fully in school life

• To provide regularly feedback to parents and to collaborate with teachers concerning progress of EAL students

 Requirements

• An undergraduate degree and a recognized teacher certification, i.e. Bachelor’s degree in Education; or Postgraduate Diploma in Education or equivalent

• At least 2 years of experience with children as an EAL teacher
