Data Engineer

As Data Engineer, you'll build and maintain backend infrastructure to unify data from disparate clinic systems (e.g. EMRs, procurement databases). This role drives scalable ETL processes for analytics, with a focus on hands-on pipeline development and governance in a multi-site healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Pipeline Development & Maintenance: Build/optimize ETL pipelines using Python/SQL; monitor health, implement alerts, and resolve issues via root cause analysis.

• System Consolidation & Analytics Support: Integrate legacy systems into warehouses (e.g. AWS Redshift/Azure); develop structures for queries, dashboards (Power BI), and forecasting.

• Internal Tooling & Automation: Create utilities and automate workflows to streamline reporting and self-service analysis; ensure high availability for stakeholders.

• Data Operations & Governance: Own data accuracy and structure; define schemas, enforce tracking standards, conduct audits, and deliver data management tasks to support daily operations.

• Collaboration & Monitoring: Partner with Ops/IT for migrations/training; debug failures and proactively detect problems through logging/alerts.

• Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Statistics, or related; certifications like AWS Data Engineer preferred.

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in data engineering role; track record in building and managing data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.

• Technical Skills: Strong SQL/Python; proficiency in ETL tools, cloud platforms, databases; familiarity with healthcare systems and AI/ML a plus.

• Language: Fluent English/Cantonese; strong communication for stakeholder alignment.
