Technician (MagIC2025-011)

Job Description:

• Providing support to laboratory users as necessary
• Upkeeping laboratory inventories and equipment
• Providing technical training to new staff on equipment operations
• Assisting with general laboratory safety assessment
• Providing safety advice to lab users as necessary
• Performing other job-related duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned by laboratory director

Job Requirements:

• Have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Microbiology, Biological Science, or related disciplines with at least 3 years laboratory technician experience; or a master’s degree in relevant background with at least 2-year post-qualification experience.
• Have good communication skills and interpersonal relationship. Able to communicate experimental processes and scientific conclusions. Work independently and fit as a team.
• Good knowledge of computer applications, such as MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Able to work flexibly and be trustworthy.
• Immediately available is highly preferred.

Appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
