Senior Product Development Engineer

About the role

Hopstech Industries Ltd., a Hong Kong–based toy product development and manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to join our growing team in Kwun Tong. This full-time role will focus on leading new toy development projects for international customers, ensuring products are designed, engineered, and manufactured to meet global standards across the US and EU markets.

You will work closely with overseas clients, internal engineering teams, tooling vendors, and factory partners to bring creative toy concepts from ideas to mass production.

What you'll be doing

• Lead product development for new toy projects from concept to mass production
• Work closely with overseas customers to understand design needs, compliance requirements, and delivery timelines
• Develop engineering drawings, BOM, specifications, and feasibility assessments
• Coordinate with tooling, production, and quality teams to ensure smooth sampling and manufacturing processes
• Track project status, manage risks, resolve technical issues, and ensure on-time delivery
• Review and ensure products comply with relevant standards (such as ASTM F963, EN71, etc.)
• Support continuous product improvement based on feedback and test reports
• Communicate professionally in English with international customers

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in toy development or consumer products manufacturing
• Strong technical knowledge in plastics, injection molding, and toy safety compliance
• Experience working with China / Dongguan factories is a strong advantage
• Good communication and project coordination skills
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight schedules
• Proactive mindset and strong ownership to drive results
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese
