Senior Merchandiser - Hard and Soft Toys

A market leader for over 30 years, Grupo Ruz, specializes in the design, development, and distribution of Toys and Children’s Products.  In addition to our own IP, our portfolio the hottest licenses and brands including Disney, Nickelodeon, Care Bears, Naruto, Pokémon, Sanrio and Sonic.  Product categories include toys (plush, figurines, action figures, dolls, vehicles), arts and crafts, back-to-school bags and accessories.  We are seeking qualified professionals to join our team.

 
Senior Merchandiser - Hard and Soft Toys

Job Description:

• Project management from time of receiving artwork, quotation, prototyping, tooling, through mass production.
• Product development - hard and soft toys, arts and crafts.
• Sourcing new vendors, products and accessories.
• Order follow-up
• Manage and evaluate planning, scheduling, costing, critical dates and milestones.
• Work closely with overseas Design, Innovation and Purchasing teams.
• Coordinate with quality team and factory engineers to define technical solutions during product development and mass production
• Negotiate costing, schedules, terms and ship dates
• Vendor and PO management
• Manage tooling library
• Systematic filing and uploading of data
• Ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Engineering background or proven track record of developing hard toys with strong knowledge of related manufacturing processes
• Minimum 3 years of experience in licensed or branded toy development
• Comfortable generating and working with spreadsheets
• Strong understanding of relevant production processes
• Proven project management and problem-solving skills
• Materials and costing knowledge
• ERP experience
• Positive attitude
• Proactive, detailed oriented, organized and team player
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Fluent in spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin
• China travel required
• Immediate availability is preferred
