Research Assistant in the Department of Public and International Affairs (Appointment for 3 months with possibility of extension) [Ref. B/R/1330/03]

Project

Utilizing Digital Gamification to Promote Academic Integrity and the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence in a Virtual Space

Duties

1. Leading interviews and focus groups with users of AI (e.g. ChatGPT);
2. Conducting AI workshop with pre versus post evaluation;
3. Performing data preparation, collection, entry and analysis;
4. Conducting literature review;
5. Checking interview transcripts for data analysis;
6. Conducting qualitative and quantitative data analysis;
7. Writing up research results and presenting them to stakeholders;
8. Performing administrative tasks, including liaising with stakeholders and managing research data collected; and
9. Be willing to take up other relevant research-related activities and additional tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigator.

Requirements

1. A Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics/Technology Management/Social Sciences or related disciplines with no more than a total of 6 years of service at the University;
2. A strong interest in and have some knowledge on AI preferably ChatGPT and the likes;
3. Proficiency in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Putonghua);
4. Excellent writing skills in English;
5. Prior scientific or journal publishing experience is a plus;
6. Prior experience in doing qualitative analysis;
7. Prior experience in conducting quantitative data analysis (e.g. using SPSS or R or Stata);
8. Meticulous and ability to pay attention to details;
9. Hungry to learn new things, willing to work hard and have a serious attitude toward work; and
10. A reliable, well-organised, communicative person and have a genuine research interest.

Salary and Conditions of Service
