Research Analyst / Senior Research Analyst

Law.asia, a thriving legal media company with market-leading magazines focusing on Asia, is seeking a research analyst who is fluent and highly proficient in both English and Mandarin.

The position will primarily involve researching and processing information for data-driven projects mainly related to China, as well as understanding the legal market environment in the Asia-Pacific region. This role provides an ideal opportunity to gain insight into the legal industry and market trends.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

• Interpreting market trends from a legal expert’s perspective
• Maintaining and expanding the historical legal market database to ensure it reflects and provides a consistently high standard of data and analysis
• Understanding the criteria of Law.asia publications to analyse and determine whether specific updates meet the database inclusion criteria
• Contributing to and producing reports with commentaries and data for publications based on the database
• Updating the database to ensure that updates and individual profiles are accurate and comprehensive
• Developing beneficial relationships with legal/business experts in Asia to keep the database up to date
• Regularly monitoring updates from clients and the media

Skill required:

• Fluent and highly proficient both in English and Mandarin (written and verbal)
• Interest in research and data analysis
• Understanding of business law would be ideal but not essential
• Attention to detail and good organisational skills
• Persistence
• Numerate
• Ability to work towards deadlines
• Very good Excel skills
• Knowledge of research methodologies
