Project Manager


This is a role within the Regional IT team who primarily manage concurrent large-scale IT projects that span across multiple business streams in APAC.   The Project Manager is responsible for the full spectrum of end-to-end project delivery.


Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Execution:

    • Work closely with senior business stakeholders to understand their business needs and strategy adhering IT best practice, Group standards & policies.
    • Assist Product Lead on aligning project goals with the overall product strategy and prioritizing features.
    • Develop comprehensive project plans, considering both technical aspects and product requirements; Create and maintain governance meetings and project reporting.
    • Ensure timely and quality delivery within budget and scope.
    • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis.
    • Ensure comprehensive project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Ensure that new products and services are effectively handed over to Operational support.
    • Strive for excellence and learn from experience by conducting survey and post implementation review with business and internal teams.
    • Report to Product Lead about project status and potential challenges


  • Team Management:

    • Allocate resources effectively, considering both technical expertise and product priorities.
    • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members' individual strengths, skill sets, and experience levels.
    • Co-ordinate and manage onshore / offshore teams with their assignments, user stories, and acceptance criteria along with execution plans.
    • Regularly engage with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analyst, QA and country IT teams.
    • Facilitate communication between technical teams and Product Lead.
    • Provide knowledge, insights, directions, and guidelines to colleagues who are less experienced.


  • Risk Management and Mitigation:

    • Identify potential risks, assess the likelihood and impact that could affect the project delivery and product roadmap.
    • Work proactively to mitigate risks and address any roadblocks.
    • Communicate with Product Lead on the identified risk, mitigation plan and progress.


  • Technical Insight:

    • Understand technical architectures, software development lifecycles, and deployment processes; be able to facilitate debate and drive decisions on appropriate solutions.
    • Provide professional consultation to our business team with feasible and cost-effective technical solutions.
    • Examine all function as well as non-functional requirements to ensure that product / project engineering meet country compliance, group compliance and project constraints.
    • Consider comprehensiveness towards non-functional requirements that cater the concerns of security, performance, maintainability, scalability, and usability of a product.
    • Translate technical complexities into actionable plans for the team.


  • Vendor Management:

    • Access estimation from vendor, evaluate performance, and ensure vendor alignment with project goals.
    • Ensuring the day-to-day communication with vendor from resources management, project management to activity management.
    • Collaborate with vendors for specialized technical services or tools.
    • Engaging in RFP bids and vendor selection in the early stages of a project where required.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Proven track record in managing strategic global solutions delivery which includes app based projects, infrastructure projects as an additional advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate strong management skills including project management, financial management, change management and facilitation.
  • Experience in leading & managing the (onshore and offshore) team along with multiple concurrent projects delivery.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products such as Azure Cloud, SQL Database, Dynamics 365, .NET, O365.
  • Knowledge of enterprise standards including logging, monitoring, access limitation, sensitive data handling.
  • Knowledge and experience in different development principles & architecture design.
  • Comfortable to work in Agile along with traditional waterfall model.
  • Be reliable, accountable and with excellent ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the business and technical resources.
  • Be a team-player - with a positive, pro-active attitude to encourage and enthuse the project team.
  • Able to work under pressure and with agility to the dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Be fluent in English and Cantonese, proficient in Mandarin for business communication and presentation.
