We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of our humanities department and make a significant impact on the lives of our students in Years 7-11.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons in Humanities, with a focus on History and Geography, to students across Year 7 to Year 11. You will play a key role in:
· Teaching the Cambridge Lower Secondary Global Perspectives and/or Cambridge Lower Secondary History/Geography curriculum to Years 7-9.
· Teaching Cambridge IGCSE subjects in History (0470/0977) and/or Geography (0460/0976) to Years 10-11.
· Developing and implementing innovative lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of learners and foster critical thinking, research skills, and a global mindset.
· Contributing to the planning and development of the Humanities curriculum and departmental resources as a founding faculty member.
· Assessing, tracking, and reporting on student progress in line with Cambridge assessment objectives and school policy.
· Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages student participation and love for the subject.
Who We Are Looking For:
Essential Requirements:
· A recognized bachelor's degree in history, Geography, Social Sciences, or a directly related field.
· A formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGDE, Bachelor of Education).
· Demonstrable experience teaching History and/or Geography at the secondary level, with a strong preference for experience with the Cambridge Lower Secondary and IGCSE curricula.
· High fluency in English, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
· A passion for teaching and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
· A collaborative, proactive, and flexible mindset, essential for a start-up school environment.
Ideal Candidate Will Also Have:
· Experience as an examiner for Cambridge IGCSE assessments.
· Experience integrating technology into teaching and learning.
· A proven track record of achieving strong academic results with students.
· The ability to contribute to the school's co-curricular programme (e.g., Model UN, Debate Club, History Society).
