Duties

The Department of Data Science is expanding and looking for an experienced candidate with good organizational and administrative skills to support the development of the department. Key duties include to:

  1. Provide administrative support in handling personnel and recruitment matters;
  2. Support all departmental personnel, visiting scholar and visiting-related issues;
  3. Arrange logistics and itineraries for visitors;
  4. Manage financial records, staff development applications and reimbursement matters;
  5. Coordinate departmental functions;
  6. Provide administrative and clerical support to the research postgraduate programmes (including admissions, daily administration, research student study process monitoring and postgraduate research seminars) and research funding applications;
  7. Handle matters related to student admissions, scholarships, programme accreditations and quality assurance;
  8. Provide support to faculty members when necessary; and
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. 5 passes (Grade E/Level 2) in HKCEE/HKDSEE, including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A), Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 2 years’ clerical experience;
  2. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);
  3. Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
  4. Strong computer literacy;
  5. Being responsible, self-motivated, cooperative, and attentive to work details and task quality; and
  6. Ability to work independently under pressure are required.
  7. Relevant administrative and secretarial experience is preferred.

Candidates with more than 6 years’ working experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Assistant I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
