Duties

The Department of Neuroscience is looking for various experienced candidates with good organisational and administrative skills to support the development of the department. Key duties include to:

  1. Provide clerical support to Programme Leader(s) and/or their delegate(s) for administration of Master’s programme(s) including managing applications, admissions, daily operation, monitoring study progress, managing student data, assessment scholarship and award matters;
  2. Assist in teaching assignments, timetables, examinations and other course or programme administration;
  3. Offer logistic support for programme-related activities/initiatives such as orientation, student activities, alumni activities, promotional activities etc;
  4. Provide clerical support in developing and promoting a new master’s programme;
  5. Manage matters related to appointment of research support staff;
  6. Manage website updates;
  7. Provide IT support;
  8. Maintain inventory records; and
  9. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

5 passes in HKCEE/HKDSEE, including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A), Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 2 years’ post-qualification clerical/administrative experience. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); strong sense of responsibility, attention to details and being self-motivated; ability to work independently and efficiently with good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills; and strong computer literacy are required. A recognised Bachelor’s degree with clerical/administrative experience preferably in tertiary institutions is preferred. Some knowledge in design would be an advantage.

Candidates with more than 6 years’ relevant working experience in handling academic programmes may be considered for appointment as Clerical Officer I.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
