CFO, Specialized in International Tax

About the role
This role oversees the operations of a founder-backed investment platform, applying international tax expertise to support cross-border governance. You’ll also be responsible for day-to-day administrative and operational management as a board member. Given the importance of this role, we’re looking for someone who can work with us over the long term, based on deep mutual trust.

What you'll be doing

• Compliance-driven structuring and hands-on execution of regulatory filings to prevent over-taxation
• Participating in strategic decision-making as a member of the board of directors
• Communication with portfolio company management in Japanese
• Financial analysis and forecasting of portfolio company performance
• Decision-making and nagotiation on new investments, ongoing equity holdings, and divestments
• Coordination with the company secretary, auditors, lawyers, and other advisors
• Execution or oversight of accounting, HR, and general administrative functions

What we're looking for

• Fluency in English and Japanese
• Experience in international tax as a Manager or Senior Manager
• Experience in negotiating with Japan’s National Tax Agency
• A strong interest in the oversight of portfolio companies
• A willingness to learn management accounting and legal work
• A proactive and solutions-oriented mindset
• A commitment to long-term, trust-based professional relationships
