Automation Engineer

About this position

During the commissioning phase you will report directly to the commissioning manager to ensure clear communication regarding tasks, planning, progress and punch items.

As a direct report to the Maintenance manager (during operations), this position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the plant is operational and efficient. Without it, the plant would not be able to function.

During the commissioning and operations, the Automation Engineer is heavily involved in guaranteeing high availability and operational accuracy of the plant. This involvement is essential to ensure that the control principles used in plant operations have a large impact on the final result of the control principles used for the plant operations.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in the commissioning and start-up of the plant.
• Do maintenance on both hard- and software of the plant’s control system.
• Participate in improvement projects that will increase the plant’s availability, safety and efficiency. This is accomplished by being part of an international team of multiple disciplines.
• Participation in potential other Hong Kong based projects.

Network

• Design, implement and troubleshooting of network and security infrastructure and devices. These include Firewall, Routers. Layer 2/3 Switches, Wireless Controller,
• Wireless Access Point and etc
• Take charge of network security and establish compliance with company
• Technology policies/procedures through ongoing security reviews and audits
• Perform inter-vlan routing and configuration to enhance the security of our environment
• Perform network tuning and optimization on a time to time basis to improve the availability to the users
• Installation, Management and troubleshooting of PBX, Biometric Attendance
• Systems, Video conferencing equipment, CCTV cameras and Card accessing system

Server

• Setup, Manage and Maintain Microsoft Servers infrastructure (AD / DHCP/ DNS / Sharepoint/ SCCM)
• Perform system administration, maintenance, fine-tuning and manage capacity planning for all servers
• Perform system hardening, upgrade and patching accordingly to company technology policy
• Proactively respond and monitoring of system alert messages and event logs
• Provide fault management and high availability of all IT equipment
• Ensure backup is properly performed and data restoration are tested on periodic basis
• Manage AV and Endpoint for patch management

Requirements:

• Hold a bachelor degree in Electromechanical/Automation Engineering. Alternatively, candidates with equivalent experience in Automation Engineering.
• Possess a minimum of 5 years or more of relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Know of the 3 pillars of automation: Software, hardware and management.
• Self-starter attitude, taking ownership of tasks to ensure their successful completion.
• Ability to communicate in a professional and timely manner with all parties involved, including subcontractors.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, enabling effective evaluation and resolution of issues that may arise during the course of a plant’s lifetime.
