Reporting To: Sales & Business Development Manager – Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan
Location: Hong Kong
We are seeking a hands-on and proactive Assistant Sales Manager / Sales Supervisor to be the operational backbone of our business in Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Your primary focus will be to ensure seamless operations by collaborating closely with internal teams, analyze performance to inform strategy, and manage key accounts and distributors with a detail-oriented and efficient approach. You are a "doer" who thrives on solving problems firsthand and is committed to upholding the high standards of the Moleskine brand.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Operations Management:
· Act as the key operational support for retail stores in Hong Kong, ensuring smooth back-of-house and front-of-house processes
· Oversee sales forecasting, demand planning, and expense to optimize Profit and Loss
· Implement and maintain Visual Merchandising (VM) guidelines to ensure a consistent brand experience
· Manage the operational aspects of new store openings and closures, coordinating with cross-functional teams
· Execute in-store strategies developed with Marketing to grow CRM membership and enhance customer engagement
2. Wholesale & Distribution Management:
· Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts and distributors, handling daily enquiries and building strong relationships
· Collaborate with key accounts on joint sales forecasting, promotions and demand planning to optimize the sales
· Ensure excellence in wholesale execution (display and assortment) by leveraging tools and guidelines from HQ
3. Business Analysis & Reporting:
· Monitor and analyze sales KPIs, product performance, and market trends to provide actionable insights
· Develop and maintain regular performance reports for both retail and wholesale channels, sharing results with relevant stakeholders
· Leverage data to support the Sales Manager commercial decision-making
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
· Serve as the key liaison between the local market and the HQ Commercial team, ensuring alignment on strategy, operations, and reporting standards
· Work closely with the Marketing team to plan and execute channel-specific campaigns and activations
· Partner with the Logistics team to ensure timely order fulfillment and resolve any operational issues
· Coordinate with the Finance team on sales reporting, reconciliation, and budget tracking
Qualifications & Requirements:
1. Proven experience (3+ years) in retail operations, with exposure to supporting multiple store locations
2. A truly hands-on, proactive, and "can-do" mindset. You are a problem-solver who anticipates needs and is not afraid to be on the ground in stores or with partners
3. Strong analytical skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs, Charts) for data analysis and reporting
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse internal and external teams
5. Fluent in English and Cantonese.
Strong Advantages:
1. Experience in wholesale, key account management, or distributor support
2. Proficiency in Mandarin to effectively liaise with regional team and Taiwan partners
3. Experience with BI tools and SAP
4. A passion for the Moleskine brand and an understanding of the lifestyle/stationery market
