Assistant Director/ Project Manager (QESS project: Establishment of Industry-University Partnerships Office)(Ref.: 25/101/QESS/IUPO/AD/PM)

Project Start Date: 1 November 2025

Duties

  1. Play a crucial role in facilitating collaboration between the university and industry partners and fostering mutual understanding in academic programme development and research;
  2. Develop and execute project plans to ensure timely and efficient event and project delivery within designated timelines and scopes;
  3. Develop a strategic plan for the establishment of the Industry-University Partnerships Office;
  4. Coordinate with external stakeholders and university units, such as faculty, researchers, and industry representatives, to ensure smooth collaboration and project execution;
  5. Organize networking events and partnerships learning/ research activities to enhance relationships between the University and various industries;
  6. Set up, manage, and oversee project budgets, progress, and resources to optimize project outcomes;
  7. Develop a comprehensive database to track project information, stakeholder engagements, and collaboration metrics;
  8. Evaluate the impact of partnerships, highlight successes, challenges, and areas for improvement by identifying and mitigating potential risks ahead;
  9. Identify and engage potential stakeholders, exploring collaboration opportunities;
  10. Prepare statistics, project progress reports, and evaluations for periodic reviews, reporting to internal and external parties;
  11. Provide secretarial support during meetings; and
  12. Perform ad hoc duties as assigned by the Project Coordinator.

Appointment Criteria

1.      A recognized Master’s degree;

2.      Minimum 3-5 years of experience in project management;

3.      Strong organizational and time management skills, with a proactive approach and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines and pressure;

4.      Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;

5.      Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft;

6.      A creative and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to think innovatively;

7.      Sensitive to project timelines and capable of effectively controlling project progress;

8.      Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work; and

9.      Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese, Good command in Putonghua.
