Accounting Manager (Senior/Mid/Asst)

About the role

We have a rare opportunity for an Accounting Manager to join our team at LAAB Architects, a 50-strong young and innovative architectural design firm, to fulfil the needs of our expanding business. Immediate availability is preferred.

Our office is located in a peaceful area in Sheung Wan, right off Hollywood Road, and we also run a cafe (commaa) in our office.

In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our firm’s accounting, financial and HR administrative functions.

The job title, Senior/mid/Assistant Accounting Manager, will be offered based on the experience and qualifications of the candidate.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll.
• Prepare regular financial reports, budgeting, cash flow management, and tax handling.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Assist in audits and liaise with external auditors and banks.
• Develop and implement efficient accounting processes and internal controls, including the use of latest accounting software and digital tools.
• Assisted by a small HR and admin team to oversee the HR administration of the office, primarily on payroll, insurance, holiday management, and ensure our compliance with labour ordinances.
• Assist the directors for company secretariat affairs, including corporate statutory filings, and maintenance of company records.

What we're looking for

• Comfortable with our 3 office cats.
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, ideally in a multi-functional role.
• Bachelor degree, and/or recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, HKICPA), if any.
• Excellent knowledge of Hong Kong accounting standards and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and data analysis tools. Knowledge of MYOB is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with colleagues, clients, and auditor.
• Ability to provide commentary on company finance and generate financial forecasts will be a plus.
• Honesty, proactive problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
• Immediate availability.
