Introduction

Every year in August, the Bai Xian Asia Institute (BXAI) Summer Program brings together up to 100 students from universities across East Asia for a fun and enriching experience of exploration and learning. Through exchanges with influential leaders in their respective fields, during lectures, panel discussions, fireside chats, workshops, excursions, etc., students broaden their perspectives and develop a greater understanding of issues affecting Asia today. The 2026 BXAI Summer Program will be held in Hong Kong from August 4 to 19 in partnership with The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Job Description

BXAI is seeking to hire interns to provide support for the development and execution of the 2026 BXAI Summer Program. Our interns this year will have the opportunity to work closer to home in Hong Kong, gain invaluable cross-cultural experiences, develop important professional skills, and meet prominent industry experts.


Interns are expected to attend the 2026 BXAI Summer Program in its entirety, as well as assist with pre-event preparation and post-event work for about 2 months from July 2 to August 29, 2026. Subject to satisfactory performance, they may be invited back to BXAI to take up a longer-term role, which can be a year-round part-time internship or even full-time employment.

Compensation

·         $11,500 per month


Time Commitment

·         Full-time from July 2 to August 29, 2026


Key Responsibilities

·         Support the development and execution of the BXAI Summer Program, including but not limited to coordinating projects, organizing student engagement activities, making logistics arrangements, etc.

·         Assist in content development, including to but not limited to:

o   Design, record, draft, edit and post social media messages, graphics, photos, short videos, etc.

o   Write short articles of up to 600 words

o   Report on interdisciplinary learnings and cross-cultural exchange experiences

o   Prepare press releases

·         Perform ad hoc duties as assigned

Required Status, Attributes and Skills

·         Hong Kong ID holder, a must

·         Current university student or bachelor’s degree holder or above

·         Strong sense of responsibility

·         Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

·         Ability to host and facilitate offline and online discussion groups

·         Flexibility with working hours and ability to adapt to a fast-paced work mode as well as unfamiliar situations and challenges

·         Good command of spoken and written English

·         Proficiency in Chinese/Japanese/Korean, a plus

·         Proficiency in video conferencing tools

·         Proficiency in computer software, such as Word, Excel, Canva, Google Suite, Python, Procreate, Adobe Fresco, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other video editing software, a plus

·         Relevant study and/or professional/community work experience, a plus
