Job Description

THE HONG KONG COUNCIL OF SOCIAL SERVICE

Director (Finance) (Ref No: HKCSS/036/2025)
One-year renewable contract

Responsibilities

  • To ensure optimal financial performance in support of the organization’s mission-driven strategic framework, employing activity-based financial analyses, forecasting, management reporting and planning to provide tactical recommendations.
  • Responsibilities
  • To head up the Finance unit and provide budgeting, management reporting and financial controls, annual financial/audit reports including those of its subsidiaries
  • To supervise the financial and accounting operations and in compliance with corporate governance, Hong Kong laws, statutory, accounting and audit requirements, act as the administrator of the relevant IT systems, etc
  • To interact with senior management to provide tactical financial planning and management consultative support
  • To assist the Chief Executive / Business Directors to keep track on the financial health and resources development

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/ Finance, CPA designation is required
  • At least 10 years of finance experience with years of experience in a managerial role, preferably in NGO/ sizeable organization
  • Strong understanding of strategy and organizational dynamics with the innate ability to adopt and communicate a broad strategic view supported by critical financial analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of business and management principles and with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Good understanding of the operation of NGOs and government funding
  • A high level of self-confidence with a direct, professional, interactive style that includes offering honest, constructive feedback as needed
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
