Acoustic Consultant / Assistant Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Providing professional acoustic design advice and recommendations for noise and vibration control throughout project design and construction phases
• Undertaking building acoustic assessments, including acoustic modelling, calculations, and on-site monitoring surveys to support technical reporting and design guidance
• Conducting traffic/industrial noise assessments, including noise modelling, field measurements, data analysis, and impact reporting
• Collaborating closely with clients to understand their specific acoustic requirements and develop optimized solutions

Qualifications:

• Degree in Acoustic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related environmental / engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 years of consulting experience in acoustics, and/or noise & vibration control
• Corporate membership of the Hong Kong Institute of Acoustics (MHKIOA) or Institute of Acoustics (MIOA)
• Demonstrated experience of working in multi-disciplinary teams
• Solid expertise in building acoustics and project management; experience in environmental noise and/or vibration control would be considered an asset
• Knowledge in key areas of building acoustics including sound insulation, room acoustic, background noise control
• Knowledge in noise assessment based on CRTN, RONOSS-HK, CNOSSOS-EU, US FTA Manual, ISO 9613, CRN
• Experience in acoustic/noise/vibration modelling/analysis software (e.g., CadnaR, Odeon, CATT, EASE, INSUL, CadnaA, NoiseMap, etc)
• Strong computer aptitude and skills in Microsoft Office, Adobe, AutoCAD, Sketchup, ArcGIS, etc.
• Experience in acoustic instrumentation and methodology for reverberation, sound insulation, noise and vibration measurements / surveys
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and coordinate work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Self-motivated, confident, organized, efficient, innovative, and energetic, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Candidates with less experience may be considered for an Assistant Consultant role
