Job Responsibilities:
1. Project Management
New Construction
- Conduct site inspections to monitor work progress, quality and adherence to approved drawings, specifications, and schedules.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project requirements, building codes and safety regulations.
- Verify materials and workmanship meet project standards and specifications.
- Enforce health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies on-site.
- Liaise between architect, contractors and the School.
- Attend progress meetings, provide updates on site conditions and prepare progress reports for management.
- Assist in snagging and defect rectification before handover.
- Ensure as-built drawings and manuals are submitted.
Renovation of Existing Premises
- Plan, coordinate and oversee summer renovation and refurbishment projects.
- Complete the tendering process for large renovation projects.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and to specification.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to school policies.
2. Campus Development
- Coordinate with School Leadership Team and outside professionals on lease renewal/modification application for existing campuses.
- Coordinate with School Leadership Team and outside professionals on campus development plan aiming to improve school safety and/or teaching and learning.
- Responsible for supporting management in the submission of necessary documents, floor plans, proposals to different government departments on lease renewal application and campus development.
- Liaise with School Leadership Team, architect and outside professionals on feasibility studies, construction cost estimation on potential new school campus following site visits.
3. System Management
- Manage overall school building systems to ensure efficient and effective school operations.
- Leverage AI and automation to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of managing the school campuses.
4. Other Duties
- Supervise repair and maintenance operations to be performed by contractors and in-house technicians.
- Manage emergency repairs and respond to urgent facility issues.
- Ensure all facilities meet statutory safety standards.
- Implement eco-friendly initiatives.
- Handles Budgetary and HR matters of the Project and Maintenance Unit.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Building Studies or related field.
- Safety Training Certificate of Green Card (Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate) is mandatory.
- Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience in construction site supervision and project management.
Strong understanding of Hong Kong related laws & regulations, including:
- Buildings Ordinance (Cap. 123)
- Construction Sites (Safety) Regulations
- EDB Design & Space Requirements for Schools
- Proven track record in school project, new-build and/or renovation, is a plus
- Hands-on knowledge of Building Management Systems and proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM, MS Project, etc.
- Fluent in Putonghua, Cantonese & English - written and spoken
- Ability to liaise with government officials, contractors, architects and school stakeholders.
- Highly organized & detail-oriented as school projects require strict compliance with EDB and government standards.
- Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills in managing multiple contractors and workers.
- Problem-solving mindset and demonstrate ability to handle delays, design changes and site issues efficiently.
- Adaptable to tight schedules as school projects often have fixed deadlines.
