Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Demand and Supply Planner to join our regional supply chain team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the alignment of demand forecasting and supply planning to optimize inventory levels, support business objectives, and maintain high service levels. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams across sales, marketing, production, logistics, and finance, and will contribute directly to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and business intelligence.
- Analyze demand patterns, seasonality, and promotional activity to enhance forecast accuracy.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Finance to integrate market insights and product strategies into the demand plan.
- Monitor and improve forecast accuracy through root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
- Partner with the Global Demand Planning Manager to finalize the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
- Convert demand forecasts into actionable supply plans to ensure stock availability while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence.
- Coordinate with production and logistics teams to align supply with operational requirements.
- Identify supply risks (e.g. delays, shortages) and develop contingency plans.
- Maintain inventory levels across regional warehouses to meet service level targets.
- Monitor inventory aging, turnover, and stock levels to optimize working capital.
- Implement inventory control policies to manage slow-moving or obsolete stock.
- Conduct inventory health reviews and suggest replenishment strategies.
- Align supply chain planning with business objectives by partnering with Sales, Finance, and other internal teams.
- Participate in regular S&OP meetings to share insights and align priorities.
- Support New Product Introductions (NPI) and end-of-life product transitions.
- Generate and analyze KPIs such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and order fulfillment.
- Recommend process improvements and automation solutions to enhance planning efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in demand/supply planning or inventory management (experience in medical devices, healthcare, FMCG, or retail preferred).
- Proficiency in ERP systems and forecasting/planning tools.
Key Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP), Power BI, or SQL.
- Understanding of statistical forecasting and inventory optimization techniques.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Working knowledge of end-to-end supply chain functions (procurement, production, logistics).
- Familiarity with quality and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Fluent in both Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin) and English.
