IT Manager

IT Manager shall carry out and be responsible for the following duties:

A.   Responsibility

a) Responsible for maintaining and managing IT related matters onboard (Vessels) and in the OPEARL office.

b) Monitor and maintain various IT software and programs in use for all shipboard and shore

c) Monitor and maintain all hardware, software and network onboard, ensure security of cyber

d) Monitor the various data-exchange systems between vessel and office, and make sure all

working in good order.

e) Upkeep of and manage all software / IT systems including change of software and applications, version control & update methodology on both vessel and office.

f) Raise awareness on cyber security threats/ counter measures and provide support and track IT related technical issues onboard and ashore.

g) Technical services regarding the V-SAT and communication support with data.

h) Technical services that the crews of ships are required to gain for the performance of their duties.

B.  Job Description

a) Visit vessel in port or during at dry docking period for maintaining IT related system onboard

including network, hardware and software.

b) Closely monitor data exchange and communication between vessel and office; give full

support for troubleshooting.

c) Consult with service provider and give full support to vessel for troubleshooting.

d) Consult with IT service provider for upgrading the program as per requirement from Fleet Department or other concerned parties as per development needed.

e) Maintain and update PMS(Planned Maintenance System) database under supervision

f) Provide training to crew member and office staff on IT systems & software, associated

operation as well as cyber security concepts and rules as necessary.

g) Manage the change of software and applications on both vessel and office.

h) Review the IT related requisitions from vessels under his supervision and obtain necessary

approvals.

i) Coordinate with the service provider and end users for planning and conducting the change of software and applications as required.

j) Select approved contractors for repair in good timing and check to settle the bill under

supervision and approval.

Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

· IT Team Member will be the holder of diploma of college of computing.

· Appropriate skill and experience are required as IT staff.

· Be good at both software and hardware convenience, especially in network security

· Minimum 3 years working experience in relating industry.
