DBIS seeks to appoint an enthusiastic, qualified and successful Music teacher who is willing to commit to supporting the pursuit of creativity and innovation for students in the Upper Primary and Secondary School. The teaching allocation for this position will be tailored to the successful candidate's experience, with opportunities for specialisation in IGCSE and A-Level Music.
This is an exciting opportunity to join us as our school continues to grow, with increasing student numbers and the development of state-of-the-art Music facilities and programmes. The successful candidate will also be expected to serve as our main piano accompanist for school events.
To be considered, it is essential to have:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a full-time class teaching role;
- A bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree in Music or a closely related field;
- A relevant postgraduate teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTS);
- Experience teaching Music to a high quality within the English National Curriculum framework.
- Experience in the performance of Music.
It is desirable to have:
- A highly proficient level of Piano performance (e.g., ABRSM Grade 8 or equivalent);
- IGCSE and A-Level Music experience;
- A master’s or postgraduate qualification in a related subject;
- Experience working with EAL pupils (English as an Additional Language).
All new teachers are offered two-year renewable contracts and a competitive compensation package, with a gratuity of 18.75%, an additional monthly cash allowance, remuneration of school fees for one child and full medical and dental insurance for the employee and spouse.
