About the Role: We are a leading U.S. garment sourcing organization seeking a skilled Technical Designer to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is critical in ensuring our private brand apparel meets the highest standards of fit, construction, and quality. You will collaborate closely with suppliers, product development, and sourcing teams to deliver exceptional products that align with brand strategies.
Working location: HONG KONG - local candidate is preferred
Responsibilities:
Pattern & Grading Guidance: Advise suppliers on master pattern development and size grading to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Specification Development: Create and assign apparel specifications and standards for fit, construction, and styling aligned with private brand strategies.
Fit Evaluation: Review and evaluate supplier confirmation garments for fit, construction, and overall quality.
Cost & Construction Consultation: Provide technical input on garment construction, yardage yield, and cost considerations to Product Development and Sourcing teams.
Product Package Support: Assist in updating product packages for private label merchandise, including detailed specifications, grade rules, technical drawings, and minimum construction standards.
Innovation & Technology: Apply knowledge of the latest manufacturing techniques, equipment, and fabric technologies to enhance garment evaluation processes.
Quality & Fit Analysis: Conduct technical evaluations using sizing surveys and returns data to resolve fit and quality issues across programs.
Training & Education: Support garment evaluation training and provide ongoing technical education to suppliers.
Qualifications:
At least 2 years proven experience in technical design, pattern making, and size grading within apparel manufacturing or sourcing.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit standards, and private label development.
- Familiarity with CAD systems and technical drawing tools.
- Ability to analyze data and apply insights to improve fit and quality.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
