Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Japanese language lessons that cater to learners of varying abilities.
  • Develop curriculum and instructional materials in line with the IB framework.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and cultural exchange.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including formal assessments and informal observations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate language learning with other subjects and school activities.
  • Maintain open communication with parents regarding student progress and school events.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

The successful candidate should have:

  • A recognised background in teaching/education with teacher registration in Hong Kong must possess the right to work in Hong Kong.
  • A familiarity with IB MYP, GCSE and IB DP curriculum design processes and teaching methodologies
  • The desire to embrace faculty-wide professional development models and collaborative practice
  • Previous experience teaching Japanese at the secondary level, particularly in an international setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English.
  • A commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school
  • A commitment to pastoral care within the school
  • The ability to teach an additional subject would be desirable
