Key Responsibilities

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective Geography lessons across Years 7-13, including iGCSE and IB Standard and Higher Level. 
  • Teach MYP Individuals and Societies effectively. 
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies focused on inquiry-based learning to enhance student engagement. 
  • Foster a genuine love for Geography among students of all abilities, motivating them to excel. 
  • Collaborate with Head of Geography effectively, as part of a team to contribute to the ongoing development of the department. 
  • Commit to continuous professional development, particularly in integrating digital skills into teaching and learning. 
  • Promote experiential learning with an emphasis on leading fieldwork opportunities.

Pastoral Care

  • Serve as a tutor for a group of approximately 15 students, supporting their holistic development through pastoral work.

Extra-Curricular Contributions

  • Actively participate in extra-curricular events and activities, either through personal interests or in support of student-led initiatives.

Educational Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Geography across age and ability range 
  • Proven track record as an excellent classroom teacher, with experience in global citizenship and service-oriented learning.

  • Proven experience leading or contributing to extra-curricular programs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in developing curriculum and pedagogy.
