System Engineer

Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), a non-profit making and non-statutory corporation responsible for the overall administration of “.hk” domain names in Hong Kong. HKIRC is also responsible for the on-going liaison with local and international bodies on issues relating to the development and administration of Internet domain name systems.  We are looking for highly motivated and independent candidates for the position of:

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily system monitoring and operation tasks, system administration
• Participate in system infrastructure architecture design and enhance the productivity
• Work with setup and conduct proof-of-concept testing and evaluation on testbeds for assessing new technology, technical standards, and products evaluation.
• Knowledge on hardware, software, networks, facilities, services.
• Develop and Maintenance the operation procedures to ensure proper control, to achieve ITSM, risk management, system and security requirements are in place for all IT infrastructure and data centre operation.
• Organize and supporting all IT Projects, including but not limit to new deployment, security exercise, DR Drill, BCP, Application Release,
• Support any Emergency operation support for data centre & BAU operation, even at non-office hours/PH.

Requirements: 

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

• 3 years hands-on experiences on Virtualization environment, Networking, ITSM.

  • Solid Experience in Wintel platform, Linux, VM (such as VMWare, HyperV), excellent knowledge and skill set on MS Window server, SMS/ConfigMgr, AD.
  • Strong knowledge on TCP/IP, DHCP, WINS, DNS and related operation/knowledge
  • Knowledge on Backup Technology (Veeam & Avamar) is an advantages

• Working experience in Hybrid SAN, Cloud-based solution, Cloudflare, AWS and Azure

  • Knowledge in Windows & Linux platforms and scripting using shell/Python/PowerShell
  • Certificate Holder of MCSE+ / Cloud platform (e.g. Azure Administrator) is an advantages
• Experience on Infrastructure security, networking design is and advantages
• Extensive knowledge in IT security, ISO27001 and ITIL/ITSM is preferred
• Effective communication, good interpersonal skills, patience, patient and persistent analytical mind, visionary and foreseeing.
• Independent, quick to react, and willing to learn, can work under pressure and challenges.
• Candidates will less experience will also be considered
