The Role:

We are looking for an accomplished Senior Project Manager with substantial experience in diverse manufacturing processes, particularly injection molding, die-casting production, and CNC machining. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete project lifecycle—from initiation and planning to execution and closure—within the Consumer Products industry.

Your primary focus will be on developing new products that meet design specifications, while also addressing any challenges that may arise during the development process. You will facilitate direct communication with our international clients and collaborate with tooling and production engineers across our factories in Southern China. Duties and Essential Job Functions:

·       Overall responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, delivery and closure of a project

·       End to End Project Management with direct communication with customers

·       Coordinated Development Projects. Liaised with Sales/Design team/Customers to create product development schedule and define project milestone.

·       Managed Request for Quote and sampling with vendors.

·       Reviewed and Approved Vendor Sample

·       Identified new products/concepts/fabrics/materials if applicable

·       Worked with QC & OEM Development team for product compliance and specification

·       Developed full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.

·       Developed and delivered progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.

·       Proactively managed changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.

·       Identified and developed new vendors

·       Measured Vendor performance, capability and capacity in order to make appropriate decision.

·       Maintained Vendors Partnership. Leveraged vendor’s R&D and Sampling capabilities and assisted in managing vendor audits if applicable.

·       Negotiated price with Vendors on new developments as well as production items. Gathered market information to ensure best-in-class pricing.

·       Maintained system database on costing, product and supplier’s information.

·       Developed best practices and tools for project execution and management.

·       Effectively communicated project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

·       Defined project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.

·       Built, developed, and grew any business relationships vital to the success of the project.

·       Managed Customer’s purchased orders and coordinate with Purchasing and Logistic Team to ensure orders delivered on time and in best-in-class quality.

·       Managed customer’s stocks, excess and obsolesces and negotiated on liabilities (if any)

·       Conducted project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.

·       Ensured the product is compliant with customer requirement, technical and quality standard

·       Educate new vendors on project requirements and standards

·       Performed partner visit for development of manufacturing process, automation, technology, material and application method

·       Worked between different suppliers to provide technical support and ensured product delivery is on schedule

·       Evaluated the feasibility of selected concepts (DFM) to meet functional, cosmetic and customer needs. Assisted R&D and Engineering Team on building and validation of production tools and fixtures


Specific Skills

  • Preferably a Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing / Industrial Design / Engineering or related disciplines.
  • Ideally with 8+ years experience in a similar role. (Lesser experience will also be considered if the correct attributes and knowledge can be demonstrated).
  • Experience with MS Office is essential. Knowledge of SolidWorks or PRO-E will be favored.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules.
  • Working knowledge of both high and low volume manufacturing processes as well as hands-on experience with Chinese manufacturers.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • An excellent command of spoken and written English and Mandarin is a must.
  • The Job requires the successful applicant to be stationed 5 days at the office in Shenzhen with our team.
