Job Description
Objective:
- Supervise the work of the Senior Merchandiser/ Merchandiser to ensure all programs placed are properly completed and buyer’s sourcing needs are satisfied.
Job Duties:
- Ensure buyer’s sourcing needs are satisfied by directing new program development, identifying and assessing new and existing contractors/suppliers, and providing updated market information including but not limited to quota situation and capacity of contractors.
- Negotiate with contractors (and fabric suppliers if applicable) to set the price and quality standards within buyer’s specifications.
- Ensure contractors/suppliers (especially new contractors) understand Sterling & Grant’s required standards by briefing them on Sterling & Grants policies and terms of contract.
- Monitor the operation of garment programs by reviewing reports prepared by Merchandiser(s)/Assistant Merchandiser(s) to identify problems immediately and to undertake remedial action promptly for on-time delivery.
- Ensure competent and effective merchandising team by continuously coaching Merchandiser(s)/Assistant Merchandiser(s), and assigning tasks to stretch them to their potential.
- Working close with Design Team for developments/sourcing/style interpretation.
- Working close with QC Team to arrange “Appropriate Inspection Schedule” to ensure both quality requirements and contract deliveries and achieved.
- Practicing and fully utilizing MSC system and ensure all the data required in the MSC system are entered promptly and correctly.
- Ensure all claims are properly and fairly settled by negotiating with contractors and suppliers to accept the claims without damaging the good working relationship.
Requirements
- 5 years for Sr. merchandiser relevant working experience in knit & woven cut-sewn manufacturing high end fashion industry– Men’s & Women’s Apparel
- Willing to work under pressure and precise in working on details
- Must be self-motivated, well-organized, responsible and hard working
- Tertiary education or above, T.I. / Poly graduate in Textile/Clothing preferred
- Capable to communicate with overseas customers
- Able to handle customers’ inquiries, develop sample orders & bulk orders independently
- Strong technical skills in fibric and garment
- Travel aboard for business is required
- Good knowledge in MS office, with ERP system experience is preferable
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Putonghua
- Rich knitwear product knowledge is perferable
Candidate with lower qualification or fewer experiences will be considered as merchandiser
Candidates are required to work 4 days in Dongguan office and 1 day in HK (WRM)
