Job Description

Major Duties:
The appointee is required to assist the Head of Administration and Facilities Management Office in formulating and executing administration policies and procedures related to the full spectrum of campus operations and facilities management for the two campuses located in Chai Wan and Tsing Yi. He/she will act as the project coordinator of the upcoming commercial property leasing and renovation project, leading the project, reviewing the design of renovation, providing advice/solutions to resolve technical issues, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of the project. The appointee will supervise a small team on campus maintenance, alterations and additions works, property management and to achieve energy efficiency, safety & health and environmental friendliness. He/she will be required to plan and execute work orders for building facilities and services including security, cleaning and hygiene, catering, venue/facilities booking and carpark management, etc., and to undertake the implementation through liaison with consultants, contractors and other operation units of THEi or VTC. The appointee is required to draw up work plans / maintenance schedule and undertake inspection of facilities including classrooms, multi-purpose hall, conference rooms, canteens, etc, for ongoing improvement of the campus environment to support teaching and learning, as well as events and functions, etc.
      
Requirements:
(a)    A recognised degree in building studies, surveying, building services engineering, facility / property management or related fields;
(b)    At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in building/property management or building/engineering works supervision and inspection, and/or handling building contracts;
(c)    Preferably with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in project coordination of renovation/fit-out project management;
(d)    High proficiency in computer software applications, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, AutoCAD and Chinese word processing;
(e)    Proven supervisory experience, with the ability of multi-tasking and working independently as well as be a good team player;
(f)    Proactive with strong leadership, problem solving, negotiation and people management skills; and
(g)    Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
           
Notes:
(1)    The post is at the rank of Senior Officer.
(2)    The appointee may be required to perform duties at different sites and outside Hong Kong, and work irregular hours, shifts and on Saturdays and Sundays.
(3)    The remuneration package will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
(4)    The appointee will work at the Chai Wan Campus.
