Research Assistant (holding a functional title of UI/UX Designer)

[Appointment period: 12 months]

 

The appointees will assist the project leader in one of the research projects below:

“AI-Powered Interactive Marketing and Customer Engagement Solution”

(Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.1/R098), or

“Designer-led AI System for Fashion Accessory and Lifestyle Product Design”

(Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.2/R101), or

“AI-Driven Pattern Making System for Fashion”

(Ref. No.: AiDLab/P1.3/R104)

 

Job Duties:

a) Responsible for interface visual design across company product lines, including UI design for web and mobile platforms.

b) Translate product managers’ business requirements and user flows into highfidelity prototypes and visual solutions.

c) Independently manage end-to-end design processes, delivering standardized design documents (using Figma/Sketch/XD).

d) Collaborate closely with front-end developers to ensure design accuracy and provide technical support (e.g., asset exports, annotations).

e) Contribute to design guideline development and iteration, ensuring visual consistency and innovation.

Qualifications Requirements:

a) Bachelor’s degree holder in related disciplines with at least 1 year of UI/UX design experience with a portfolio showcasing multi-platform projects.

b) Proficient in Figma/Sketch/Adobe XD, user flow design, interaction principles, and visual standards.

c) Product-oriented mindset with the ability to translate business logic into solutions.

d) Basic understanding of front-end development (HTML/CSS/JS preferred).

e) Experience in B2B/C2C complex system design is preferred.

f) Familiarity with motion design tools (After Effects/Principle) is preferred.

g) Practical experience in UX research (user testing, data analysis) is preferred.

h) Travelling to Mainland China may be required.

About Laboratory for Artificial Intelligence in Design (AiDLab)

AiDLab is the region’s first research platform that focuses on the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with design. It was jointly established by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Royal College of Art (RCA) in the UK, and is funded by the HKSAR Government under the InnoHK Research Clusters.
