What you'll be doing?

Let’s cut to the chase, we have customers that want to get educated first with modern networking technologies and design, in large enterprise environments. Then they would like to have an independent review of their current network architecture, for further suggestions of what to do next.

The expectation is to have a Senior Network Consultant as a Professional Service to deliver education and enablement workshops, provide deep and comprehensive vendor-independent reviews of their current network architecture, and provide recommendations of future network design.

The consultant (you) will have to share, connect, negotiate and answer questions from customer’s various stakeholders on “how to implement” for the suggested futuristic design.

The consultant (you) will be project based man days, average 1-2 man days per week, the project is about 1 year long.

Satisfied customers will issue additional man days for hands on implementation and further sessions, plus extension of project.

The hourly rate of HKD500/hour is not a mistake, per on-site man-day (8 hours a man day) it is HKD4,000/man-day, given you are highly qualify with the requirements and willing to proactively satisfy the customer's needs.

The reality is: It is about 6-8 man days per month, thus a contracted role.

Responsible:

• Produce face to face enablement sessions, slides and hands on workshops to educate multiple teams in the customer how basic Network works, from basic CCNA level to intermediate-level.
• Provide in-depth and comprehensive review of their current network architecture.
• Answer specific questions about “how” to the customer’s network team
• Debunk the myths and misconceptions and provide details on why it can be and should be done in the modern way, business-as-usual and resistances to change are typical and efforts required to level up for the benefits of the business
• Collaborate with our Account Managers and Account Technical Engineers to lay out the contents of the sessions and strategic direction of the futuristic design.
• Review and provide action items for Network operations process re-engineering. Drive automation on IT network provisioning and management.
• Work with stakeholders to agree on service level objectives (SLO / SLA) and measures for KPI

• Create a robust operations model that drives IT network availability to Five 9s target (99.999%).
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as IT network & security manager or relevant experience in managing enterprise scope of IT network.
• Holder of CCIE certification or equivalent, Routing & Switching or Data Centre, is preferable.
• Able to work independently with self-discipline
• Good presentation and inter-personal skills
• Advanced understanding of networking protocols, architecture and technologies including TCP/IP, SDN, VxLAN, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, MPLS, BGP, and network function virtualization.
• Strong knowledge of on-premise traditional non-cloud networking, experience in network integration with Hypervisor and Storage System
• Strong knowledge in cloud networking, specifically with Azure, Ali Cloud and Oracle Cloud, including Express Route, FastConnect and Multi-Cloud connectivity.
• In depth knowledge of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, VPN, IPS, IDS, Anti-DDoS and encryption.
• Good command of English / Mandarin / Cantonese
