Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant (6 months extendable contract)

[Appointment period: six months initially, with the possibility of extension based on performance and project needs]

Duties:

The appointee will support the Principal Investigator in a research project on Facebook news framing. Key responsibilities include:

1. managing and coordinating the implementation of the overall project;
2. assisting in data crawling; 
3. performing a mixed-method content analysis;
4. reviewing literature and preparing reports;
5. performing administrative tasks related to the project; and
6. undertaking other duties as assigned by the project leader or her delegates.

Appointment Criteria:

Applicants should: 

1. hold an honours degree in social sciences, computer sciences, or a related discipline;
2. possess strong knowledge and skills in mixed-method content analysis;
3. demonstrating proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and research-related software, with experience in data crawling techniques being an advantage;
4. have an excellent command of both written and spoken English, as well as fluency in written Traditional Chinese and spoken Cantonese;
5. be self-motivated, exhibit strong organisational skills, and have a strong sense of responsibility; and
6. be a good team player who is also capable of working independently.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
