Part-time Lecturer (General Science/ Biology)

Job Responsibilities:

• To deliver lectures, conduct seminars and/ or tutorials in biological science related subjects, and to perform duties at different teaching venues, wherever applicable;

• Developing and preparing teaching materials such as lesson plans, course handouts, PowerPoint, etc;

• Preparing required documentation for grading and reporting on student progress;

• To provide guidance on students’ academic writing and projects;

• To act as a marker and second marker or internal moderator for student assignments and projects;

• To participate in school projects and functions, accreditation, validation, moderation, staff development workshops, seminars, and conferences, where necessary.

• To participate in school events, including student orientation activities, ceremonies, and other school activities, where necessary.

• To carry out academic related administration duties, including serving in academic and other related meetings, and any other teaching and administrative duties as assigned;

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree or above in relevant disciplines such as biological science, chemistry, biochemistry, or a medical-related science;

• A minimum 1 years’ relevant teaching experience, preferably at tertiary level;

• Able to teach day time &/ or evening classes;

• Able to motivate students to achieve and fulfil their potential;

• Able to demonstrate the ability to move the programme forward and improve success rates;

• Be flexible and able to adapt in relation to the changing needs of the department;

Remarks: Holders of academic qualifications other than those obtained from Hong Kong institutions/ Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority may also apply but their qualifications will be subject to assessments on equivalence with the required entry qualifications.
