Job Description

The applicant must possess

  1. a recognised degree or above in construction related fields, preferably in civil engineering discipline, with corporate membership of an appropriate professional institution is preferred;
  2. a minimum of 7 years’ post-qualification relevant working experience in using and teaching the use of engineering drafting software, in particular MicroStation; experience with other software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and manual drafting is also required;
  3. work experience in civil engineering projects and BIM construction would be an advantage;
  4. conversant with comprehensive and latest knowledge and technology in construction industry or training related would be an advantage;
  5. profound knowledge in project management and implementation, strongly self-initiated and good analytical skills;
  6. commitment to high levels of quality and continuous improvement;
  7. a high level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility;
  8. strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and effective network with stakeholders in construction industry or vocational education and training; and
  9. a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.

Duties include

  1. to conduct teaching on the use of engineering drafting software, in particular MicroStation and others including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, manual drafting;
  2. to conduct teaching on specific weekdays, i.e. Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm;
  3. to prepare training materials to comply with the training requirements and development of the industry;
  4. to implement training courses, update course content and mark assessments;
  5. to carry out study and to prepare plan and proposal in connection with construction industry;
  6. to undertake duties related to the HKQF; and
  7. to carry out any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Executive Director.
