Short description of the Hong Kong Offshore Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal Project:
In support of the Hong Kong Government’s policy to reduce carbon intensity and increase the proportion of natural gas used for power generation, an offshore LNG import terminal in Hong Kong has been constructed and already started its operations in 2023! It is one of the very few alike terminals in the world. The terminal contributes to the enhancement and diversification of Hong Kong’s natural gas supply sources and ensures a more reliable supply of fuel at competitive prices.
The terminal facility entails a Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU), an offshore jetty platform, two subsea pipelines, and two gas receiving stations. In addition, it is a joint venture between the two local power producers - Castle Peak Power Company (CAPCO) / CLP Power Hong Kong and The Hong Kong Electric Company.
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), as the owner of the FSRU vessel, provides operations and maintenance (O&M) services for the offshore jetty platform. The Jetty O&M team consists of an onshore team and an offshore team of Supervisors and Operators.
We are now looking for a Jetty Electrical Maintenance Supervisor / Electrical Engineer who shall be registered as an Electrical Worker (Grade B)/(Grade H) for the onshore team.This team member will be offered a comprehensive training program to develop and improve both technical and personal knowledge and skills. What will be your roles and responsibilities?
Reporting to the Jetty Maintenance Manager. Running a safe, effective, and efficient day-to-day operation of the Hong Kong Offshore LNG Terminal facility, implementing operational plans, and auditing their application to optimize facility operation in line with HK LNG performance criteria. Frequent travel to the offshore jetty (e.g. 3-4 days per week) is required.
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical-related Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Corrective Maintenance (CM) activities at the jetty.
- Obtain quotation from contractors and arrange local manpower for maintenance tasks.
- Coordinate vendor mobilization for electrical system/equipment troubleshooting and annual inspection.
- Monitor consumables, tools and jetty spare parts at the jetty and communicate with the Maintenance Planner for purchasing and delivering to the jetty.
- Ensures safe preparation and execution of all maintenance works at the jetty performed by both the offshore Jetty O&M team and contractors (e.g., by preparing Job Safety Analyses, contractor’s job supervision at Jetty).
- Available to work in case of any emergencies and unplanned maintenance activities.
- In charge of the spare parts management on the Jetty.
- Perform ad-hoc tasks and assignments as required.
Requirements
- Registered Electrical Worker Grade B0 or Grade H0
- Proficient in English (oral and written)
- Associate Degree /Higher Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering is preferred
- Relevant operational experience preferably in LNG, Oil, Gas, Chemical, or other related processing industry
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
