Java / NodeJS Backend Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Backend Developer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend systems while ensuring scalability, security, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and contribute to continuous improvement in our development processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design, develop, and maintain backend services with best coding practices, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Requirement Refinement: Work closely with product managers to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications.

• Code Quality & Collaboration: Collaborate with technical leads to review pull requests, maintain code quality, and integrate deliverables with core systems.

• Support & Troubleshooting: Provide 3rd-tier support to the sustainment team, troubleshoot critical issues, and offer technical advisories.

• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to CI/CD tools, processes, and procedures to enhance efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Proven experience in full-cycle software development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java or NodeJS.

• Expertise in AWS cloud technologies (e.g., Lambda, ECS, API Gateway) and databases (AuroraDB, DynamoDB, MariaDB).

• Experience in scalability, security, and performance optimization.

• Knowledge of Microservices architecture, Data Orchestration, and Integration design patterns.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Agile (Scrum) methodologies, and DevOps practices.

• Excellent communication skills in English and Cantonese.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of serverless architectures.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus).
