Position:Full-Time Teacher of Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology

Year Groups: Years 10 & 11 (IGCSE), with potential for A-Level (Years 12-13)

The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and versatile teacher to join our team. The successful

candidate will be a skilled educator capable of delivering engaging and effective lessons in

Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology to Year 10 and 11 students following the Cambridge

IGCSE curriculum. This is a key role in our Science and Mathematics department, and the

ability to potentially teach these subjects at Cambridge International A-Level in the future is a

significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in IGCSE Mathematics, Chemistry, and

Biology that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.

Assess, track, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support

academic achievement.

Develop students' practical skills, particularly in science, through well-managed laboratory

experiments.

Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that promotes

student engagement and a love for learning.

Collaborate with colleagues within the department to share best practices and develop

curriculum resources.

Participate in school-wide activities, staff meetings, and professional development sessions.

Communicate effectively and professionally with parents regarding student progress.

Person Specification: Essential Qualifications & Experience

A recognized degree in a relevant field (e.g., Science, Mathematics, Education).

A formal teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Bed., QTS).

A minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience at the secondary level.

Proven ability to teach at least two of the three subjects (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology) at

the IGCSE level.

Strong knowledge of the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum for their subject specialisms.

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Desirable Criteria

Significant preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience teaching the

Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level curriculum.

Experience teaching all three subjects (Math, Chemistry, Biology).

Experience teaching at the Cambridge International A-Level (AS/A2).

Experience working in an international school environment.
